Information for TeleCampus students:
Failure to pay tuition, fees and charges by the term’s due date constitutes voluntary withdrawal from the term. Payment must be received by the term due date or your registration will be cancelled. If your registration is cancelled for non-payment, you may reregister for classes but only if seats are available. Your initial schedule or seat in a particular class will not be held for you. For classes added after the term’s due date, payment is due by 11:59 p.m. on the same day. If payment is not received your classes will be cancelled. What is an IDEAR?
The
UT TeleCampus
allows UTA students to take Internet-delivered courses
from other UT-component colleges for UTA credit. To
enroll in one of these courses, the student must
complete the online Inter-Institutional Distance
Education Admissions and Registration (IDEAR) form on
the UT TeleCampus website. A select group of UTA
advisors are available to counsel students about the
advantages and disadvantages of Internet-delivered
courses. The following contacts are currently the only
advisors who may approve the online IDEAR form:
Melanie Mcgee, Online MBA
and other Business programs
Dr. Randy Butler , Criminal Justice Online program
Elizabeth Mylle, First-Year Online and other
Undergraduate students (Primary Contact)
Gerrye Frantz, First-Year Online and other
Undergraduate students (Secondary Contact)
For questions and counseling about
taking Distance Education courses, please contact the
UTA Center for Distance Education.
They can provide advice regarding course offerings at UTA.
If you need assistance with
administrative details of the IDEAR process, please
notify Amanda Akers,
your Home Campus Office of Records contact.
If you are not in the Criminal Justice Online Program you will only receive transfer credit for the courses taken online through the UT TeleCampus System. Only students that have declared Criminal Justice Program as their major will receive a letter grade.
Information for non-UTA students:
If UTA is your Host Campus, the
following is information regarding payment of tuition
and fees, deadlines, and other useful contacts:
Payments not posted to the student account by the payment due date will be withdrawn. Please visit www.uta.edu/fees regarding "Payment Information".
Students expecting Financial Aid or
special payment arrangements for courses MUST contact
the UTA TeleCampus Coordinator at
telecampus@uta.edu
before the First Class Day to
ensure the coordination of those programs.
**Students should NOT rely on
Financial Aid being disbursed in time to meet
payment deadlines - all aid, including Emergency
Tuition Loans, must come from your Home Campus.
Course fees may be paid by credit card
or check. Refer to
Student Financial Services for details on the
methods available to you.
Please notify the UTA Registrar (fax
817-272-3223,
telecampus@uta.edu)
immediately if you decide not to complete the course. UT
Arlington
academic dates
and
refund deadlines apply.
**Drop requests must include your
full name, social security number and/or student id
number, the course(s) and semester you wish to drop,
and how to send you a confirmation, if desired.
Access the course information and
instructions through the Classroom Building of the
TeleCampus or
via the
UTA Distance Education Class Information
page. Select your course and
read the entire page carefully. You should plan to have
all materials ready by the first day of class. (These
may include computer software, textbook(s), and/or
course packet(s).) Refer to the above links for this
information.
Loan Deferment:
If you are a UT Arlington Home student taking TeleCampus courses at other UT Systems school and you have a loan that needs to be deferred, please follow these procedures. Please email Amanda Akers at Amanda_Akers@uta.edu with your name, ID number and your lender information (address and/or fax number). You will need to do this for each semester that you are taking TeleCampus courses at other UT System schools. UT Arlington will update your lenders for you. If you have never turned in a deferment form, please go to your lenders website and print off the deferment form and fax it to 817-272-3223. Once we have your deferment paperwork, we will update your information with National Student Clearinghouse as well.
If you are a UT Arlington Host student, please contact the Registrar's Office of your home campus.
